The new year is kicking off, and it’s kicking off with a bang! One of the first astrological events of the year, we will experience a partial solar eclipse January 5-6, bringing incredibly opportunity for the future, but only if you take advantage of it!
A partial solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and the Earth, however, it isn’t directly lined up, completely blocking the sun’s light. Instead, it only covers a portion of the sun from our view, making it look almost like there’s a ‘bite’ missing out of the sun. This will certainly impact how bright the sun shines upon us to some degree, but it won’t bring darkness the way a total solar eclipse does.
Those who study and follow astrology recognize that this is an exciting time. Why? A solar eclipse, whether it’s a full eclipse or a partial like we are about to experience, is a time of fresh starts and great opportunities. It calls on us to take a step back and reassess our current goals and dreams, acknowledging whether that is still the path that we want to be traveling, what we have done to propel ourselves forward up to this point, and what changes we can make to improve our chance of making our dreams a reality in the near future.

The partial solar eclipse is going to push you to identify the aspects of your life that are holding you back from accomplishing your goals and dreams. This includes recognizing your weaknesses, identifying character flaws, and acknowledging bad habits. However, that’s only the beginning. Once you have been honest with your self and shoved these aspects of your life into the spotlight, then it’s time to address them.
It’s never easy working to quit a bad habit or overcome a personal weakness. The process will demand your time, energy and dedication. There are going to be moments where everything appears to be going well and those where you question your ability to see this through.
