On August 26th we will experience the Pisces Full Moon, an opportunity for new beginnings, personal growth and life-changing goals. This is the ideal time to set yourself up for happiness and success in the coming weeks, but only if you are willing to put this energy to work in your own life.
The full moon itself is a time of intensified emotions and experiences, which has the ability to either send your life into complete chaos or to motivate you to step out of your comfort zone and make great change. Are you happy rolling with the status quo, accepting that life is ‘good enough’ or do you want something more? For those that are genuinely looking to live their best life, it will require a little work.
What is so important about this specific moon? Not only does the full moon fall in the sign Pisces, directing this energy in such a way that it’s focused specifically on new beginnings and growth, but the August full moon comes on the heels of an incredibly intense astrological summer. With a number of planets all simultaneously in retrograde and a total of 3 eclipses occurring during the season, our energy is at an all-time high. What better time to make the effort and harness this great power?
Pisces Full Moon Bathing Ritual
For best results, this ritual should be done between August 26th and September 2nd, 2018.
This is a bathing ritual which requires the use of a bathtub. If, however, you do not have access to a bathtub, the ritual can be adapted to the shower but using a jug or bucket, combining the ingredients within it as you would in the bathtub, and then pouring it over yourself in the shower.
You Will Need:
- Flower petals from the flower of your choice, either dried or fresh
- Sea salt or Himalayan salt
- Essential oils of your choice
- One or more healing crystals
- Herbs for smudging
What to Do:
#1. In order to prepare your space for the ritual, you will need to bring by smudging your home. This works to clear any negative energy which may prevent your ritual from being effective. Move through the specific room that you are working in paying careful attention to doorways and windows. As you are smudging, receipt this mantra: “Everything is as it needs to be, for I am light and love. I am located exactly where I need to be for I am light and love. As I accept, I cleanse, and as I cleanse, I am free for I am light and love.”
#2. Begin running your bath, adjusting your water so that the temperature is comfortable for you. Take a handful of your sea salt or Himalayan salt and slowly sprinkle it into the water while reciting: “I allow this salt to cleanse and purify my body and my soul. It heals my wounds. It works to cleans my life and release anything that no longer serves me.”
#3. Taking your flower petals, slowly drop them into the water while reciting: “These flowers petals add sweetness, love, and kindness into my life. I love myself and I am gentle and patient with myself. I recognize that I have come far, I am proud of myself for all that I have achieved, and I recognize that there are great things to come.”
#4. At this stage you will now add your essential oil to the bath, allowing a few drops to fall into the water as you recite: “This oil confirms that I am exactly where I am supposed to be at this stage of my life. I accept my life for all that it is, while I also recognize the opportunity for growth and change as I move forward. I have the strength and courage to make these changes a reality. This oil works to open my heart and my mind to receive guidance on what steps I should take next in order to make my life the best that it can be.”
#5. Lighting your candles, place them around the room in order to provide an ambiance and comfort. Trust your intuition, as it will guide you as to the correct placement. Also trusting your intuition, place your crystal(s). For best results, you don’t want to place the crystal(s) too far from your tub.
#6. Climbing into the bathtub, allow yourself to sink into the water, feeling the warmth envelope your body. Relaxing, close your eyes allow yourself to visualize the salt, flowers and essential oils all working their way throughout your body, bringing healing, guidance, wisdom, and love. This includes not only your physical body but also your mind and your soul.
#7. Taking a deep breath, place your hands over your heart. Speaking aloud, thank yourself at least 10 times, focusing on aspects of your being that have allowed you to be who you are today. Some examples include your lungs, your major organs, your mind, and your spirit. Once you have finished thanking yourself, take slow, deep breaths. Focus on your breathing, releasing any thoughts from your mind. Allow yourself to ‘just be’ in the moment. When you feel completely calm and relaxed and feel as though you are ready to get out of the bath (you will know when the time is right), take a moment to thank yourself, the bath water and its ingredients, the Moon and the Universe.
#8. Stepping slowly from the bath, take your time so as to avoid breaking the calm atmosphere that now fills your bathroom. Take hold of your crystal(s), rubbing it gently in order to warm it up and introduce the flow of energy. Hold your hand open, placing the crystal(s) in the center of the palm of your hand and gently blow upon the crystal(s). As you do, visualize the beautiful and healing energy being released with your breath, transferring to the crystal(s) where it is absorbed. You will keep this crystal by your bedside each night between now and the following Full Moon, at which point it will need to be recharged once again.
#9. Drain your bathwater, gathering up the flower petals that are left over. Discard these petals outside away from the house.
