In this world we find ourselves surrounded by toxic people far more often than not. While someone might seem nice their true intentions are much more sinister.
The people we surround ourselves with can have a serious impact on how we feel within our day-to-day lives. If we allow nothing but negative people to surround us, we will be brought down with them. The more you let others treat you badly, the worse off things will end up.
Whether you’re aware of the toxic people in your life or not working to identify them and cut ties or at least create boundaries can make a huge impact moving forward. Below I am going to go over some of the signs that you’re allowing the people around you to control how you feel. If these signs are present in your life, you need serious change.
5 Signs You’re Surrounded By Assholes And They’re Bringing You Down:
1. You feel exhausted after spending time with them.
The more you’re around these people the more drained you become. They leave you feeling like you’ve done ten times more than you have and make you feel quite on edge when they’re around. After you go out and about with these people you cannot wait to make it back home.
2. They make you feel guilty for doing things for yourself.
When you do something for yourself these people come out of the woodworks attacking you for being so selfish. They think that the world revolves around them and that you should never do anything to benefit yourself. Self-care is not something you should have to hide, period.
3. They push you to change who you are to fit their needs/wants better.
These people want you to be who they want you to be, they do not want you to be who you are or who you want to be. They do not care about the things you wish to achieve and only want to gain all they can from you while it lasts. They are not real friends, and they do not value you as you are.
4. They refuse to listen to you even when you need someone to hear you out more than anything else.
While these people expect you to listen to them, they will not take the time to listen to you. When you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to, they are never around. They only pop up when they feel they can benefit from being near you.
5. They are loud and very opinionated without being willing to listen to facts.
These people are not the kind of people you can reason with. They are very stuck in how they think and what they believe. You could tell them tons of facts and provide proof but that wouldn’t change anything within their minds. They are unable to grasp the things being placed forth.
