Sometimes we are just a little too down in the dumps and whether we realize it or not varies. Sometimes we could be in serious need of a mental break and have no idea, and other times, there may be no doubt.
Yes, you may think continuing on is something you can do, but is it something you should do? When the weight of the world is on your shoulders, holding it is not always the answer. You are your own person and if you need a break you should take one.
Below I am going to go over some of the signs that you need a mental break. These signs are things that if left to continue on will tear you apart. Don’t let this world drag you down, and remember: you can take a break if you need one. Life is not as black and white as people make it out to be. Hangout in the grey for a little while if you need to.
10 Signs You Are In Serious Need of A ‘Mental Break’:
1. You’re neglecting yourself.
You aren’t putting yourself first. You’re ignoring your own wants and needs and it is taking a toll on you. Nothing is really making sense like it should be.
2. You’re stressed about the past and cannot focus on the future.
You are so stressed about the past that your future is nowhere in sight. You have to work through this. Obsessing over the past is only going to cause more pain.
3. When you’re feeling overly upset all the time.
You cannot seem to calm down. Your emotions are at an all-time high and nothing feels right. Even when you’re in a great atmosphere you’re still not happy.
4. You feel completely unmotivated.
You feel like nothing is worth wasting your time on anymore. Your lack of motivation is bringing you down further and further. You do what you have to but for how long can you even manage that much?
5. When your sleeping pattern suffers.
You are struggling to sleep and when you do sleep, you never wake feeling well rested. It’s like the whole world is against you and the stress isn’t going away. Even when you close your eyes, your mind won’t let you sleep.
6. Normal life is basically unmanageable at this point.
You can’t really figure out how to manage things properly. You are spending all your time doing things for other people or working and you’re letting yourself fall on the backburner. This is not healthy.
7. You are isolating yourself.
You keep pushing people away. The more you do this, the worse things are going to get. Let the people who care about you help you.
8. You have lost hope/feel like you have failed.
You just don’t know where to go from here. You feel like you have finally achieved major failure and it hurts. You don’t know what to do next or how to get back up off the floor.
9. You’re in physical pain.
You are facing headaches and stomachaches quite frequently. The stress is really getting to you. It manifests in ways you wish it did not.
10. You feel overwhelmingly confused and foggy in the mind.
You are not able to clear your mind and are suffering from some serious brain fog. You cannot concentrate or really think clearly at this point. You are well on your way to breaking down.
