When we think about who we are and how our actions speak for who we are, we tend to think about the way we talk, the way we dress, and other more obvious things. But, did you know that even your sleeping routine can say a lot about who you are as a person?

While sleep is a necessity for all of us, the way that we go about it says a lot about who we are as people. For example, take into account the time you go to bed and wake up, and compare that to the sleeping schedule of someone you know. We need a good night’s rest to function and to allow our bodies to heal. Despite it being a universal necessity-we each go about sleeping much differently than our friends and family.

Below, I am going to list different sleeping preferences, so you can decide which one fits you best, and see what it means about who you are as a person.

1. The Early Bird

If you are an early bird, you likely choose to wake up early, versus sleeping on. For those who fall under this category, you likely wake up to make breakfast, squeeze in a workout and take a nice shower. This can mean that you are highly motivated to face challenges head-on. Instead of putting things off, you get down to business.

2. The Night Owl

Night owls are also known as sleep procrastinators. Instead of laying down each night at the same time, you likely find yourself scrolling through social media, reading a book, or binge-watching Netflix. People who fall under this category either aren’t interested in sleep or have anxieties about the next day they are not ready to face. For those who are more productive at night, it’s likely you are highly creative and tend to live your life to the beat of your drum.

3. Waking up naturally, before an alarm goes off.

If this is you, consider yourself lucky. If you tend to wake up naturally before your alarm goes off, you are likely a perfectionist. You tend to live your life in a very steady routine and do not like to deviate from your plan/schedule.

4. The serial snoozer.

If you are a serial snoozer, you probably have a million alarms. Even though you always swear you are going to wake up by the first alarm, you likely find yourself hitting snooze for alarm after alarm. Before you jump to conclusions, remember night owls are different. People who tend to hit alarm after alarm tend to be more disorganized, but are also creative and highly intelligent.
