I love a good optical illusion, how about you? While it may sound crazy, what you see in the following image will reveal deep truths about your social skills and persona.

Philosophers and psychologists dating back to the 1900s have understood the potential for symbolic images and how they can help us to better understand the inner workings of the human mind. Hermann Rorschach used inkblots, and Sigmund Freud used the symbology found within our dreams. Both believed that by the use of symbols and imagery, we could aspire to understand more about ourselves and others.

With that in mind, the following image can be interpreted in different ways. However, rather than trying to focus on all of the images within, notice the first image that comes to mind, the first thing you see and name it. Then, go to where I have listed that particular image to find out what that means about you.

What do you see first?

Do you see trees, roots, or lips?

Trees

If you saw trees, then you are most likely extroverted and strong-willed. You aren’t afraid to go through life dancing to the beat of your drum, and you aren’t afraid to be the center of attention. However, you do not wear your heart on your sleeve. Many people may often misunderstand you, or believe you to be someone difficult to read. But, this doesn’t mean you don’t have a big heart.

Roots

If you saw roots, you are most likely an introvert. You don’t mind when people offer constructive criticism, as you know that you are not always right, and you don’t mind a bit of help. You are most often someone who enjoys time alone, and it’s not because you don’t like others, it’s just simply your nature. Deep down, you have a very colorful personality, and when you get close to others, they can see that.

Lips

Most people view you as the quiet, shy type. And while you may be quiet, you are very observant and someone who is very contemplative. You truly enjoy the company of others, and your mind is always working out new ideas, or just simply trying to navigate the present. You don’t often ask for help from others, which in some cases, puts you in a bind. You are kind, compassionate, and caring, but because of your quiet demeanor, people may mistake you as stuck up. But once they get to know you, they grow to understand that you are far from that.
