Since January 14, Mercury has been in retrograde. And since this retrograde begins in Aquarius, before dancing backward into Aquarius, it’s going to create an intensity in our minds.

Fixed signs (Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, and Scorpio) are likely to feel it more than anyone, pushing them to slow down and focus on the most important areas of their life. During this time, it’s likely major issues will resurface for all of us, pushing us to draw awareness to our problems and shake up how we view things.

Aquarius is all about visionary and revolutionary thinking, often breaking down normal constructs and shaking up the status quo. Due to this, many of us may be looking at past problems with new solutions, while remaining unclear on how to apply them.

During the actual retrograde, it’s important to not make major decisions, but instead, to stay on the sidelines in introspection.

You should expect to find your mind revisiting the past during this time, which can be good or bad. It’s important not to make the same mistakes again and again, but instead, to find resolutions and figure out how to take care of re-emerging past demons.

When the retrograde moves into Capricorn, we are likely to feel even more conflicted, because the energy of Aquarius deeply opposes Capricorn in many ways. Capricorn is more of a practical-minded sign that values traditional constructs, which may make it even harder to let some circumstances go.

You may find yourself feeling conflicted between shaking things up breaking things down, and holding on tightly to everything you love most.

The best way to react to the retrograde is to take things slowly and pause and reflect often. Take time to journal and when you find old situations re-emerging, ask yourself what lessons you need to learn and how you can overcome obstacles with new solutions. Above all expect some mishaps, but understand that Mercury retrograde isn’t as horrible as most people make it out to be.

Instead, it’s a valuable time of growth and an opportunity to find real closure and move forward in our life.
