As of today (April 25th, 2020) Pluto is in retrograde. This might not sound like a lot to some but as we move into May, it’s going to be paired with some interesting energies.
Pluto retrograde this time around is going to bring out our gentle sides. We are all going to be more kind and willing to share but that in some ways can be a bad thing. This particular retrograde’s strongest influence is Jupiter conjunct Pluto and that is going to help us to focus better and make many of us much more driven.
Pluto will be retrograding until October 4th and will remain in Capricorn the whole time but it’s not the only planet we’re going to see retrograde for a long period during this time. Venus and Jupiter will be going retrograde as well mid-May. Venus is set to go retrograde on May 13th and remain retrograding until June 25th in the sign Gemini. Now, Jupiter, on the other hand, will go retrograde May 14th and remain retrograding until September 12th which will like Pluto be in the sign Capricorn.
Now, these energies all seem to complement one another well as the Venus retrograde will be offering us the chance to work through karmic issues and the Jupiter retrograde will be showing us what areas we need to work on in our lives. While that might not sound like a lot with all of these energies at work all at once, we will be able to get things done and really get back on track. Sure, it might be a bit crazy overall and we may face some madness but in the end, we will accomplish a lot through these energies.
If you’ve been letting your greedy side show, these energies are going to bring you back to reality and remind you of what is truly important. Sure, life is hectic right now and we all want to get back to normal but being appreciative of all we do have and working to slowly make progress is all we can do right now. While this Pluto retrograde energy will be alone until the 13th and 14th of May, it will still be trying hard to show us the things we need to see.
In regard to some of the energies surrounding the Pluto retrograde itself Astrology King wrote as follows:
Pluto retrograde 2020 starts on April 25 at 24°59′ Capricorn and ends on October 4 at 22°29′ Capricorn. Jupiter conjunct Pluto is the strongest influence on Pluto stationary retrograde. It is also the strongest influence on Pluto during the whole retrograde period because this major alignment lasts from April to November 2020.
Jupiter conjunct Pluto transit makes you focused and driven. Its most positive manifestation is extremely good fortune, generosity, transformational change, and spiritual evolution. Business success, wealth, travel, a promotion at work, or a better career are just some of the possibilities.
But this Jupiter Pluto conjunction is square Mercury which increases fear of death and can cause extreme, ruthless, self-righteous, and obsessive thoughts and words. So the negative Jupiter-Pluto manifestations of selfishness, greed, jealousy, nationalism, racism, persecution, victimization, and revenge are more likely. The square to Mercury also makes long-distance travel more challenging and nearly impossible because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Mercury square Jupiter-Pluto is also linked to the respiratory problems associated with the coronavirus because Mercury rules the lungs. Jupiter rules growth and expansion while Pluto rules viruses, pandemics, the masses, global events, and death. Mercury also rules hands and the square aspect makes it easier for the disease to spread because many will be careless about washing their hands and touching their face.
Pluto retrograde 2020 will coincide with mass death from the exponential growth of a highly contagious disease. Pluto retrograde 2020 square Mercury makes it harder to make sense of the loss, suffering, and grief. It may test your faith and make it harder to believe or understand that death is a transition.
While these retrogrades will help us grow, that does not mean all of them will be easy for everyone to handle. Some of us will feel like we’re being run through the gutter. Sometimes the energies around us have to really dive into our beings so that we can truly understand the lesson before us.
