Oftentimes, when we try to view ourselves, we see ourselves in a way that is biased or skewed. However, beneath the surface, beyond our conscious mind, lies the subconscious and if you know how to tap into it, you can better understand who you really are.

For many years, psychoanalysts and psychologists have understood the difference between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. Psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud discovered that in order to tap into the subconscious mind, you could use imagery and symbolism. When we look at art, we do so with our subconscious mind.

Below, I have added an image by Oleg Shuplyak that can be observed in a number of ways. Upon looking at it, without thinking too hard, ask yourself, “What do I see first?” The first thing you notice will tell you a lot about who you are in love with.

1. The painter and his subject.

If the first thing you noticed was the painter and his subject, you are someone who pays attention to the little details. When you are in love, you are very focused on your partner and go to great lengths to make them happy. You are very complimentary of your partner and are extremely caring, sometimes to a fault.

When you are in love, you give all of your focus and attention to the one you love, which makes you a great partner.

2. The face of the man without a mustache.

You take love very seriously and don’t jump into just any relationship. You make sure to take your time to get to know a person before letting them in and once you are in love, you love with all of your heart. You are extremely loyal and devout to your partner.

3. The woman next to the tree.

If the first thing you noticed was the woman, relationships bring out your sensual side. You love being in love, and when you are, you simply cannot get enough of your partner. And when you aren’t around them, you cannot stop talking about them.

4. The man with the mustache.

If you noticed the man without a mustache when you enter into a relationship, you have a tendency of meshing almost entirely with your partner. Rather than being your own separate person, you cannot stand to be away from them. Unfortunately, because people need space, this can sometimes get you into a bit of a tough spot. Don’t be afraid to maintain your own identity when you are in love, otherwise, you may end up pushing your partner away.

5. The houses.

While you don’t mind being single, being in a relationship makes you feel more secure. You love the thought of growing old and having a lifelong companion. When you date, you are always on the lookout for your future Mrs. or Mr. Right. And while that’s perfectly wonderful to be excited about those things, don’t forget to enjoy the rest of your life before that happens.

6. The instrument.

If you noticed the instrument, you are a hopeless romantic. You love surprising your partner with a new gift and surprise dates, and you always think of the sweetest things to say. There is no lack of romance in your love life, and because of that, you make a wonderful partner. Just be careful not to be too cheesy, as it may come off as fake.
