As you may know, there is a new moon coming up. This new moon will be on the 16th of October and well, it’s not like other new moons.
This specific new moon will be in the sign Libra and it’s going to for a lot of reasons be bringing out the worst in us. You may end up feeling quite aggressive and frustrated but not for the reasons you assume. Being aware of where you are in life and keeping yourself grounded as best you can is crucial during this period.
This new moon will hold power over us for a couple of weeks and its energies are powerful. Thanks to Saturn, Pluto, and Mars we’re going to be all over the place. While new moons are the end of a cycle and the beginning of another, they are very important events for us to experience. They renew us and offer us a chance to really find ourselves all over again.
This specific full moon is going to be opposite Mars and with that, you might find that speaking out is not something you’re able to hold yourself back from. You may find yourself very impatient and quite on edge. I know, this might not sound that out of the ordinary for some but overall it’s quite the pill to swallow for many of us.
Astrology King wrote as follows on some of the aspects this moon holds:
The October 16 new moon opposite Mars causes irritation, anger, impulsiveness, and hostility. The new moon square Saturn causes delays, restrictions, disappointment, and frustration. And the new moon square Pluto causes intensity, extremism, and a ruthless quest for power.
The combination of the planetary aspects creates a highly dynamic energy that is best channeled into determination, persistence, and hard work to achieve a specific goal. The promise of the fortunate fixed stars can then be realized. But if the focus is only on achieving power, polarization and conflict will result.
The October 16 new moon lasts for four weeks up to the November 15 new moon. The 2020 US presidential election on November 3 falls within this moon phase, on the same day Mercury stations direct. So there is the real possibility of a contested result, abuse of power and authority, and acts of violence. There is also a full moon before the election on October 31. It is conjunct Uranus and a violent fixed star which increases the risk of unrest.
This year in itself has been on that has brought us all to a new place of awakening and it’s a bit scary, that much I can admit. However, we are all on our own journeys, and we need to know how to work through the things before us. As tensions rise and anger grows, this moon will be forcing us to deal with things we need to deal with. It is better to face these things now than it would be to face them later.
