Sure, there are tons of things being called off or canceled right not amidst all of this chaos but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun. Sure, you might be stuck at home but why not make the most of it?

While there are people making things worse on others by stockpiling common household necessities, at least we’re alive and at least we have each other. We should all work to be more thankful and grateful right now. There are people terrified to leave their homes because their immune systems could not handle coming down with this novel coronavirus and others who are literally losing their lives.

Sure, many of us are out of work, but we still have roofs over our heads and clothes on our backs. Many are struggling but it could always be worse. We can still listen to music instead of going out, and we can read books together, catch up with close family, or even just give our pets some good ole time, love, and attention. We still have plenty to do and honestly, there has never been a better chance to practice proper self-care.

Below I am going to go over some things that everyone should allow to sink in properly right now. No, we can’t go get drunk and spend a night on the town, but we can spend hours playing games with our loved ones. Hope is not lost and being grateful right now will make a huge difference in your life, I assure you of that.

7 Important Things To Remember Right Now:

1. Laughter is a good form of medicine.

While things might be hectic right now sharing a laugh be it in person or through the phone is going to make you feel a lot better. Just because you’re feeling distant doesn’t mean you’re as alone as you think. In this day and age, we’re more connected than ever.

2. Each moment counts.

We should all be making the most of each moment before us. Take your time and have some fun. If you want to sit in a bubble bath for a couple of hours, do it. No one is going to stop you.

3. You have what you need, and that’s better than nothing.

If you have clean water, food, shelter, and the things that keep you alive you are going to be just fine. While you might want more or may not feel prepared enough you’re getting by just fine. You should be thankful that you were able to get the things that will if nothing else keep you going.

4. You are stronger than you think.

While it might not always feel like it, you’re a very strong person. You’re stronger than you think and you will get through this. In the future, you will look back on this and remember how much you were able to get through and what you managed.

5. You can still have fun.

Having fun isn’t always about going out or doing things in public. You can have a lot of fun at home. There are still plenty of things to do, get creative.

6. Times like these bring us together.

When we go through times like this we become much closer to the people who matter the most. Right now you’re learning who your real friends are. Those who do not belong will weed themselves out.

7. Without gratitude, we get nowhere.

If you spend your life wishing you had more and trying to downplay what you do have you’ll never be happy. Sure, things are hectic right now but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be grateful. There are people in your life who love you and you’re able to live properly, why not be grateful?
