If you’ve been looking for a good snack and love both peanut butter and banana, these might be perfect for you. Right now with so much going on in the world, we all deserve a nice treat.

I know, they might sound like something only those with a huge sweet tooth would be interested in but honestly, they’re relatively healthy so long as you don’t eat all of them in one sitting. They are something most everyone will enjoy and whether you’re making them for your kids or friends, they are sure to be a hit. Now, do keep in mind you can change things up as well, if you aren’t a fan of banana simply take that out, no biggie.

Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Oatmeal Bars:

Ingredients:

Baking powder

A bit of salt

4 Large ripe bananas

Milk (whichever kind you prefer)

1 Cup of peanut butter

Oats

Vanilla extract (and any other flavor you may want to add)

Brown sugar

Chocolate chips

Unsweetened applesauce or 2 eggs

Directions:

Mash your bananas properly and from there add all the wet ingredients to them in the same bowl. Make sure you stir these all together and get them a nice consistency before moving forward. I know, that can be a bit time-consuming but if you need to use a blender for this part, it may help.

From here add in everything else and for some things you may need to eyeball or add more as you see fit. That being said, make sure you only use a tiny bit of extract and aren’t making your mixture overall too liquidy, you want a good paste-like substance before adding the oats, not too thick but not runny either. Once all of that is done and everything is mixed place this on a tray and spread it out as best you can.

Let these bars cook in the oven for about 20-30 minutes more-so 30 minutes with these measurements as this will make a good-sized batch and from there let them cool. While they are cooling I personally like to drizzle a tiny bit of caramel over some of them but again, you don’t have to do that if you don’t want to. While they may sound a bit odd when you look at the ingredient list after you’ve let them cool or even taken the time to chill them in the fridge for a couple of hours you will see exactly how delicious they are.

These bars are something I now can’t quite go without. They are always quick and simple to make and everyone in my household loves them. I for one think we should all give them a go at least once.
