If there is one thing we are guaranteed in this life, it’s the element of change. From the invention of new, exciting technology to shifts in our lifestyle or overall way of life. Unfortunately, not all of these changes are positive…
Take a look back at where your life was at just 10 years ago. What did your cell phone look like? What sites captivated your attention on the internet? Taking it a step further, where was the United States at in terms of a political climate and the way that we were seen around the globe? It’s incredible just how much the world can change in a single decade.
A great example can be seen by looking at the popular movie Back to the Future: Part II. Released in 1989, the movie includes a well-known seen in which Marty McFly travels 30 years into the future, arriving on October 21st, 2015. While there were some accurate predictions, sure, it’s incredible to see just how far McFly’s experience is from the true 2015, 3 years ago. Take a moment to rewatch the scene, and you’ll discover a world of flying cars and hoverboards. Sure, we weren’t there yet BUT technology like flat-screen televisions, video communication like Skype and card readers were all considered just as wild at the time, and today they are part of our daily lives.
Today we live in a world that is highly dependent on technology, with more people than ever logging onto social media and relying upon search engines like Google. Furthermore, cell phones are no longer seen as a luxury item, they are a necessity in our daily lives.
