If you’re a highly sensitive introvert you know how easy it is to have your personal energy drained. The smallest thing can leave you ready to head to sleep, right?

It’s hard to be a highly sensitive introvert, especially in this day and age. The first step to making the most of what you are in general is to accept yourself so that you can move forward. Don’t try to force yourself to be someone or something you’re not.

Below I am going to go over some tips that can and will help you protect your personal energy as a highly sensitive introvert. While this might feel like a double whammy sometimes, it is a gift in many ways. Just because you’re highly sensitive and introverted does not mean that there is ‘something wrong with you.’

8 Tips For Protecting Your Personal Energy As A Highly Sensitive Introvert:

1. Stop letting negative people in your life.

Negative people do not belong by your side. If they’re doing nothing but bring you down, cut ties from them. You do not owe anyone a spot in your life.

2. Stop giving in after you’ve already said ‘no.’

Sure, there will be people who do not want to take ‘no’ as an answer but it is an answer. If you tell someone no, do not change things later. Stick with what you really want above all else, don’t feel inclined to change things because this person won’t leave you alone.

3. Do not let other people push your boundaries.

There will be people who try their hardest to push your boundaries, don’t let them. Your boundaries are there for a reason. They are going to protect you if you keep them set properly.

4. Meditate when things become too much.

When things become overwhelming do not be afraid to meditate. While some people think meditation is a waste of time, it can be a powerful tool. I meditate daily.

5. Don’t be afraid to have ‘lazy days.’

If you’re exhausted and depleted, take a lazy day. There is nothing wrong with spending some time to yourself. You don’t have to be busy all the time to live the life you want, we all need our space here and there.

6. Counter negative thoughts with positive ones.

When you find yourself thinking negative things, counter those thoughts. Push positive thoughts forth even if it’s hard. This is going to be a powerful tool as you move through life.

7. Remember that it’s okay to be yourself.

There is nothing wrong with you. Be true to yourself as best you can. You don’t have to try and fit into a mold made for someone else.

8. Trust your gut above all else.

Your gut will guide you properly if you allow it to. Do not ignore it, it speaks for reasons whether you can see those reasons or not. Your intuitive side is not going to lead you far from the path you’re meant to be on.
