No two relationships are the same and some are much more complicated than others but that doesn’t mean they’re all inherently bad. Some relationships are much more healthy than you might assume and others well, they’re the opposite.

When it comes to figuring out what kind of relationship you’re in you have to really assess each thing as it comes forth. When you’re in a healthy relationship you’ll still argue from time to time and you’ll still get upset but you will also be happy and content with one another. Unhealthy relationships are often full of manipulation and can be quite toxic in many instances.

Below I am going to go over some of the things that will only be present in a real healthy relationship. If these signs are clear within the partnership you’re in then you’re headed down the right road. You and your significant other are both on the same page and respecting one another properly.

8 Signs You’re In An Healthy Relationship:

1. You both have realistic expectations in the relationship.

When you’re in a healthy relationship you won’t have unrealistic expectations. You will know what your partner is and is not and how to really figure out if you’re asking too much of him or her. You won’t make him or her out to be something that he or she isn’t and you won’t act like you’re perfect.

2. You bring out the best in one another.

If you’re in a healthy relationship you and your partner will bring out the best in each other. You won’t pull one another down or hold one another back. You’ll both be growing together and working to be better versions of yourselves.

3. You and your partner are constantly becoming more like one another.

When you’re in a healthy relationship you and your partner are going to be growing together and because of that, you might end up doing some of the same things and being more like one another. This is because you spend the most time with each other. The more you are with someone the more like that someone you become.

4. You are both able to talk to one another openly.

Being in a healthy relationship has to consist of a lot of strength when it comes to communication. If you can’t talk openly to your partner about the issues within then you’re not where you need to be. As a couple, you need to be able to sit down and talk things out.

5. You both trust one another.

When you’re in a healthy relationship there will be a sense of trust between the two of you that you do not have with anyone else. You will both be able to move forward without obsessing over other people or being overly jealous. Sure, a little jealousy is fine but you won’t go overboard with it. You will know in your heart that your partner is not going to do anything to betray you.

6. You get along with each other more than you argue.

If you’re in a healthy relationship you’re going to get along with one another more than you would otherwise. You’re not going to fight or argue as much as other people do. You’re going to be willing to sit down and talk things through far more often than not. You just don’t get as worked up as you would if you were in a toxic or unhealthy relationship.

7. You are both supported in the relationship.

When you’re in a healthy relationship you and your partner both are supported. No one is left behind and everyone is taken care of. You don’t have to wonder if your partner cares about you or not. He or she will be cheering you along every step of the way.

8. You respect one another’s differences.

Being in a healthy relationship consists of a lot of respect. You know that sometimes you won’t agree on somethings and you will be there for one another even when you don’t like the situation. You can be there for each other without having to agree on things and that in itself is amazing.
