When we think of ‘making love,’ the typical route most often comes to mind. However, there are many ways to make love that don’t involve anything physical.

Making love is simply a way of expressing intimacy, and intimacy doesn’t have to require us to bump uglies. Instead, there are many intimacy-building activities two people can embark on to grow their intimacy, build trust and deepen their love, without taking off a single item of clothing. If you don’t believe me, check out these 7 ways.

1. Traveling.

Traveling with your partner is an intimate experience. Not only does this provide you with one on one time, but it also allows you to explore new territory, eat new cuisine and enjoy each other on a whole other level.

2. Cooking a meal together.

While it may sound simple, I promise there is something romantic about cooking a meal as a couple. Find something new to make, and each of you takes to a task. Watch how the two of you come together to add seasonings and give each other little tastes of your creation. It’s a very intimate experience.

3. Talking about something that makes you feel vulnerable.

Sit down, and truly talk to one another about an experience that makes you feel vulnerable. Put your guards down, and be honest and open. Discuss how the experience shaped you, and support each other as you talk.

4. Dancing.

While people don’t dance together like they once did, dancing is truly a beautiful and intimate act. Turn on a sweet song, think back to your first dance, and put those arms around your partner. Allow the music to move you.

5. Read a story to each other.

Find a short story that you think you will both love, and take turns reading it to each other. Before you know it, you will both be wrapped up in the storyline, and it’s a really fun experience to share.

6. Learn something new as a team.

Learn something new as a team, like painting, pottery making, rock climbing, or parasailing. Take time to read about it together, practice together, and watch informative videos as a team. And if it’s an exciting activity, you get bonus points, because exciting hobbies did as a team cause our body to release oxytocin, which is a bonding hormone.

7. Do something exciting together, like skydiving.

And finally, do something exciting like skydiving, or riding roller coasters together. Of course, there are other exciting things, so get creative and find something you will both enjoy.
