1. They have a routine.

Nobody can keep track of everything all the time- but intelligent people understand that having and following a schedule makes a major difference. By jotting down future and daily plans, smart people can manage their daily tasks and stay on top of them as much as possible.

2. They accept constructive criticism.

Intelligent people understand that they are imperfect. When they do something wrong or could use someone’s insight, they take it gratefully. In turn, intelligent people can readjust when things aren’t working for them and make the right changes necessary to succeed.

3. They eat breakfast.

When people call breakfast the most important meal of the day, they are not joking. A 2016 study published in Advances in Nutrition showed that eating breakfast daily improved memory, attention, and executive function in both children and adults.

4. They nap when necessary.

Rest is key for a highly functioning mind. Studies support taking naps as well, with a 2018 research review in the Sleep journal showing that daytime naps provided cognitive clarity and also improved logic and reasoning skills.

5. They minimize distractions.

In the modern technological age, it’s easy to get sucked into video games, television, and social media. Intelligent people realize this and nip these behaviors in the bud if they become too distracting. Instead, they strive for a balance between their priorities and their downtime.
