A lot of us seem to get very caught up in trying to make things work for us when they’re just not meant to be. Instead of letting go and moving on, we try harder and harder only to be let down.

Instead of forcing things, we should be moving through them and around them. When something doesn’t flow, we should just let it go. Sure, sometimes we can make things work but not all the time and that’s perfectly fine.

In life, we come face to face with a lot of negative things that we have to get through on our own. Be it moving through it all the while letting it crash or going through the motions to see where we end up. When you’re stuck in a rut or feeling like the energies around you are too much you need to cleanse yourself and work to change things.

You can’t just keep putting your all into something that’s not working. If someone wants to walk away, let them. The more you fight to keep them around, the harder they will push away from you. If they were meant to be with you, they would be with you. Letting go is hard but holding onto something that’s dead and gone can be so much more painful.

Below, I am going to go over some reasons why we should not be trying to force people to be in our lives. Instead of making their decisions for them, we should be letting them live their lives. They are on their own paths, and sometimes those paths just don’t line up with ours. I know, it’s not easy, but it’s important to understand – don’t forget that.

5 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Be Trying To Force Someone To Stay In Your Life:

1. If they wanted to be in your life they wouldn’t be leaving in the first place.

If they wanted to be with you, they wouldn’t be trying so hard to cut you off. The people who truly love you won’t jump ship when times get rough or try to hide from you to keep you at bay. They will stick with you through the ups and downs, and you won’t have to question their presence.

2. You cannot just make someone care.

Just because you care about this person does not mean you can make him or her care for you. They at the end of the day are not going to care about you if they simply don’t care about you. If they are trying to walk out the door, let them.

3. If you somehow trick them into sticking around they will only end up resenting you.

Sometimes we somehow manage to guilt-trip people who don’t want to be with us into being with us and when that happens the way they look at us changes. They don’t even see us as friends anymore but more-so people they wish didn’t exist. Sure, they don’t want to hurt you but they also don’t want to be with you and when that happens, setting them free is your best option.

4. You won’t ever know whether he or she is with you because they want to be or because you want them to be.

When they end up with you after wanting to leave, you will end up questioning things more and more. You won’t know if they’re there to make you feel better or because they want to be. This will in many ways eat you alive.

5. Real love comes naturally, it’s not forced.

Real love is not something you have to force to work or force to happen. If someone loves you, they won’t want to leave. They will be there for you through the ups and downs this world has coming towards you.
