Sure, being single isn’t necessarily as easy as a lot of others think it is but it’s not all bad either. There are upsides to being single just like there are upsides to being in a relationship.

If you’re really single and not looking to date anyone then chances are you’re taking time for yourself and working on things you know need to be worked on. This is a good thing and you shouldn’t be ashamed of it. There is nothing wrong with moving through life without a romantic partner, if that’s what you want to do.

Below I am going to go over some advice that I wish I had knew/taken when I was single. Sure, being with someone that loves you is nice but making the most of being single can really help you grow. It’s a great way to really learn more about yourself and tap into the things that make you who you are.

5 Pieces Of Advice All Single People Need To Take:

1. Being single allows you to create a lot of powerful platonic connections, be willing to do that.

When you’re single you become friends with a lot of people. You grow connections and find meaning in other areas of life. These people are the ones who will be there for you when things go wrong when you’re actually in a relationship.

2. When you’re single you should take the time to do more of the things you’re passionate about.

While you might want to be lazy or just waste your time, you should spend your time doing things that light a fire in your soul. Dive into your passions while you have the time to do-so. I know, it might not sound like much but this makes a huge difference in your overall quality of life in the long-run.

3. It’s better to wait for the right person than to settle for the wrong one.

Sure, you might end up falling into the fear of missing out when it comes to relationships but you’re not missing much. The right person will come into your life when the time is right. You shouldn’t be spending all of your time trying to find someone to be with when you should be enjoying what time on your own you have. Eventually, someone will come along and you will fall in love.

4. Enjoy being single while you can.

Don’t waste your time stressing about diving into a relationship. Enjoy being single and do the things you love. There is nothing wrong with having your fun while you can, again don’t beat yourself up over it. You deserve happiness.

5. There is nothing wrong with spending time alone.

Spending time alone is something a lot of people look down on but honestly, you shouldn’t. The more time you spend on your own the more comfortable you are with yourself as a whole. Use this time to get to know yourself as best you can so that in the future you’re as open as you can be when you do decide to settle down and know what you want.
