Here are 10 benefits to staying single you may not have even thought of.

1. You can spend more time finding yourself.

While many people focus on finding a partner, you could be spending that time finding yourself. I spent much of my earlier years, worried that I would never find Mr. Right. However, when I started focusing on growth and self-love, it no longer mattered.

2. You can flirt with whomever you wish.

When you are in a relationship, you have to settle with one person. Buuuuuut, if you remain single, you can enjoy as many people as you wish. It can be fun to date around and just enjoy it, instead of worrying about committing.

3. Travel anyone?

If you are in a relationship, it can be hard to travel. Your partner may not be in a position to travel, or they may not want to travel. However, when you are single, you can go wherever you please.

4. Hello, career!

Many people choose to remain single because they want to focus on their careers. Yes, you can focus on your career if you have a partner, but we only have so much focus to give. Oftentimes, when we spread ourselves thin, we are less likely to get what we want from our focus. Staying single allows you more of your focus to pour into your career.

5. You don’t have to share your home with someone else.

Living with others, even if you love them, is no cakewalk. You have to get used to dealing with another person’s issues and let’s be real, people are difficult. Even we are difficult. However, if you choose to remain single, you don’t have to worry about dealing with living with someone else.

6. You can focus on other relationships.

Our romantic relationships are not the only ones that matter. If you have family, friends, and pets, then you know all too well that those relationships are important too. When you choose to stay single, you can spend more time with them.

7. You can rest peacefully.

Sleeping with another person can be nice sometimes, but even if the cuddles are awesome, after a while, most people like their space in the bed. Unfortunately, if one of you sleeps like a starfish and the other does not, it can make sleeping a struggle. Not to mention different body temps and different movements.

8. You can focus on your dreams.

While career aspirations and relationship aspirations are the most typical, those are not the only dreams you can have. When you choose to remain single, you can put more effort into those endeavors.

9. Decisions will be easier.

Have you ever tried to decide on a partner? It’s not always easy, and most of the time, compromise is necessary. Unfortunately, this means that someone doesn’t get what they want, which can be frustrating.

10. You can make your health a priority.

Did you know that single people are more likely to be able to attend to their health? According to a survey of 13,000 people, single women exercise more and are more likely to build a routine. Additionally, if you are just feeding yourself, you are more likely to be able to stick to healthy choices.
