While not everyone realizes it, the astrology we know today is not the same as the astrology of the past. That having been said, we are still capable of really looking at things in other ways to gain more perspective if we so choose.
When it comes to Egyptian astrology, things are not quite the same as what you’re used to. According to Astrofame, there are 12 Egyptian zodiac signs as well, but they are each named after the Gods and Goddesses who rule over them. That being said, each of these line up with your average zodiac sign within reason depending on which you get.
Below I am going to go over each Egyptian zodiac sign and what they mean. While some of them you may be more familiar with than others, overall they are quite interesting to learn about. The God or Goddess that your sign is, should reveal to you just who is protecting you so intensely.
The Egyptian Zodiac:
Osiris – Aries
Osiris is a powerful God and he brings rebirth after death. Those born with this sign are very daring and love to teach but can also be a bit overbearing. While these people may have a lot to work on they also tend to get a lot of things done as well.
Amun-Ra – Taurus
Amun-Ra is a God that holds more strength than most others. Those born with this sign are very useful and hold a lot of power. They might be a bit more closed off than they should but overall they are great listeners for those they care the most about.
Seth – Gemini
Seth for those who might not know is the God of chaos and well, is a very determined God. Those born under his rule are very volatile, but they are also quite unforgiving. They tend to take things too far but also are the life of the party in many ways. People love to be around them, but they can sometimes be a bit much.
Bastet – Cancer
Bastet is a Goddess and she is responsible for protecting women. She is charming and very unique as are those born under her protection. Those with this sign tend to be a bit clingy but overall, are very caring and always mean the best.
Anubis – Leo
Anubis is easily one of the most amazing of these Gods as he is the one who guards the world of the dead. People of this sign are very controlling and often like to take the lead even when they shouldn’t. They pour their passion into all they can and well, they don’t like to hold back.
Thoth – Virgo
Thoth is a God that holds rule over wisdom. The people born within this sign are great at listening, and they tend to be the ones who are the most willing to make changes properly. That being said, they are not always the easiest to get along with. Because of how they present themselves, sometimes things get tricky.
Geb – Libra
Geb is a God that loves a great deal more than most realize. Those born under his protection are quite affectionate and usually some of the most caring souls you’ll find. They might be a bit modest but that in itself doesn’t hold them back in any areas.
Mut – Scorpio
Mut is the Goddess that protects us all, but she holds a special place in her heart for those born under her protection. Those who have her sign are often very hardworking and will go up against all odds to accomplish the things they feel they need to. That being said, they do not always seem to have the best outlook and that holds them back sometimes.
Hapi – Sagittarius
Hapi is the God of the Nile and well, he’s not what you’d expect. He is quite gentle and his energy overall is much less intense than most assume. Horus – Capricorn

Sekhmet – Aquarius
Sekhmet is the Goddess that makes sure justice is always served. She does not hold grudges, but she does make sure things are as they should be. Those born under her protection are often very impatient but also quite welcoming. They are friendly and caring but how they go about things can be a little odd.
Isis – Pisces
Isis is the Goddess of motherhood and well, that means what you would expect it to mean. Those born under her protection are a bit demanding, but they are also very controlling. They tend to want more than they can handle and really don’t know their own limits.
