When it comes to loving someone who doesn’t love you back, you’re allowing your energy to be drained without a good reason. Because you are emotionally attached to this person, the cords tying the two of you together need to be cut so that you can go forth in life.

Just because you care about someone does not mean you should hold onto that attachment after their intentions have become clear and the fact that your love is one-sided has been brought to your attention. While nothing can prepare you enough for this kind of thing, knowing how to face it is important.

Below I am going to go over some very important tips for cutting your emotional attachments from someone who refuses to love you. While you might want to make them love you, that just isn’t going to happen and you need to do what’s best for you. Leaving that kind of person in the past or perhaps even just being friends without that yearning for more would benefit you in a big way.

7 Tips For Releasing Emotional Attachments:

1. Let yourself mourn if you need to.

If you need to mourn the loss of the relationship you wanted so badly with this person, do it. That will help you in more ways than you could imagine. While it might feel awful sometimes it’s important.

2. Meditate over healing yourself within.

Meditation is one of the best means of truly healing. Let it all out inside of yourself and use your energies to transmute it into something you can use properly. While this isn’t easy and takes time, you can do it.

3. Cut those etheric cords, stop waiting around.

Etheric cord-cutting is something we should only do when we know someone is zapping our energy. If the person who does not love you back is still mooching off of you this cord needs to be cut. You will feel it and when the time is right you will cut this cord so that you can move on more properly.

4. Stop being in contact with that person if you need to in order to feel better.

If you need to cut ties with this person then do it. They don’t deserve a place in your life if they’re always bringing you down. You don’t have to keep them around just because you think you can convince them to fall for you.

5. Find someone who actually loves you back.

While you might not feel ready to get back out there just yet being willing to consider it and opening yourself up allows you to find someone worth your time. When you find someone who actually loves you back the feelings you had for the person who didn’t care about you will die off. You will truly see love for what it is instead of what it could be.

6. Work towards being a better version of yourself.

Instead of obsessing over trying to convince this person to be with you, work on yourself. Make progress and become someone you’re proud of. We should all strive to be the best versions of ourselves that we can be.

7. Talk things out with those who do care about you.

While this person might not love you back, you are surrounded by people who care for you. Those people will be willing to hear you out and listen to what is on your mind. Sure, it might sound silly but getting this kind of thing off your chest might make you feel a lot better.
