While being in love and having a man to snuggle up to feels great, it is not something you cannot live without. We are far stronger than we tend to realize and happiness is not isolated to those who have someone to care for.
There are tons of positive sides to being single. Being single doesn’t mean you have to be upset or feel lonely all the time. Sometimes being single is fun and can really give a person the time needed to figure things out. Being single is not something that will last forever and is nothing to be ashamed of.
Below I am going to go over some reasons why being single is important and how it can work in your favor. Just because you aren’t in a relationship does not mean you aren’t capable of living your best life. Relationships and happiness do not always have to go hand in hand.
12 Reasons Why You Don’t Need A Man To Be Happy:
1. You have more time to chase your dreams.
When you’re single you have more time to really go for your goals. You can become more of who you want to be and figure out where you want to go. Your dreams are something you should never put behind you and when you’re single you’re far more capable of getting yourself out there.
2. You are free to be yourself.
Sure, being in love is great but it changes you. When you’re single, you’re free to be yourself. You are able to grow and work towards what you want to in life. There is no one beside you saying that what you’re doing is risky or that you might need to tone it down, you are free.
3. You get to spend your time the way you want.
When you’re single you get to spend your time in any way you see fit. No one can tell you how to live your life or what you should not do. You get to make your own decisions and you get to decide whether something is worth your time or not.
4. You are whole on your own.
Being single is not being incomplete like some people assume it is. Relationships do not complete us, they just enhance our lives. That being said, we can be happy all on our own. You are not incomplete just because you don’t have someone to love.
5. You can focus on your friends and family.
While single people don’t have someone to love they do have friends and family who need them. When you’re single, you can spend more time with the people who care the most about you. You can make memories with your parents and go have fun with your friends.
6. You don’t have to question your worth.
You are worthy of far more than you realize and when you’re single you begin to see that. Being in a relationship comes with a lot of double standards and so forth. Far too often we find ourselves questioning our worth when we’re in serious relationships.
7. Happiness comes from within.
Happiness is not something that comes from being in love. It is something you find within your own being. You can be happy and single, the lines are much clearer than most people tend to realize.
8. You don’t have as much to stress about.
When you’re on your own you are not forced to stress about the issues of your partner. When you’re in a relationship with someone, you take on the things that bother them and not having to experience that is a great thing. You have your own things to stress about and are not taking on any extra.
9. You have more time for hobbies.
Being in a relationship takes a lot of time. When you’re single, you have a lot more time for hobbies. You are able to do things you enjoy and the more time you have for your hobbies the happier you will be. Science has shown that partaking in your hobbies will make you feel a lot better for a number of reasons.
10. There is no doubt that your thoughts are your own.
When you’re dating someone you sometimes fall into the cycle of taking on their thoughts and acting more like they would. However, when you’re single that doesn’t happen. When you’re on your own, your thoughts and actions are your own one hundred percent.
11. You are truly free.
Being single is being free on a level most people tend to overlook. You can do whatever you want and you don’t have to answer to anyone. You are able to literally move out of the country if you want to, the sky is the limit.
12. You learn to love yourself more.
When you’re in a relationship you focus too much on the other person but when you’re single you have time to cultivate a sense of self-love. Being single and learning more about who you are and what makes you you is something we should all give a go at least a time or two in our lives. The single life is not as negative as most make it out to be.
