In life, we go through a lot of ups and downs, we are told from a young age that we’re meant to get married and start families but other than that we’re not really given as much guidance as we need. Sure, some of us chase our dreams but the rest of us end up stuck not really knowing where to go from where we are.
We tell ourselves over and over again that we will find happiness in time. We remind ourselves through it all that once we get through the obstacles before us, we will be happy but does that happiness ever truly come? Well, honestly I think that depends on how you look at things.
We spend so much time stressing over our kids, our jobs, and even our lives as a whole which in many ways forces us to lose ourselves. There will always be obstacles in our lives, and we will always be going through things but if we don’t stop to smell the roses and really take things in properly, we will never truly find happiness. You can’t expect it to just come out of nowhere and take over your life, happiness doesn’t work like that.
You must work within to find happiness inside yourself. Stop obsessing over making everyone else happy and try to make yourself happy first. You matter more than you realize and if you keep letting your own wants and needs fall through the cracks, you’re going to end up miserable.
If you keep sitting around going through the motions waiting for something amazing to happen, you’re going to spend your whole life being disappointed. Life doesn’t work in the ways we want it to. It is a mystery we have to try hard to understand properly. Deciding to find the good in all the bad and see the light through the darkness is one of the best things you can and will ever do on this planet.
Stop wasting your time and wilting away. Live the life you want to live and be the person you know you’ve always been meant to be. Don’t let anything get in your way of being happy. You can find happiness in the smallest things if you know what you’re looking for.
Just because times can be hard doesn’t mean you should give up on yourself. You need yourself more than you realize and if you’re not on your side who will be? Even when times get rough, there is something hidden to smile about whether you see it right off the bat or not. Stop getting so caught up in the problems before you and the bad things you’re facing. Start taking the time to appreciate the kind gestures of others and the accomplishments you are able to achieve despite the things you’re going through in this world.
