If you are an Empath, then you know this to be true. For the most part, Empaths struggle with finding a place where they feel that they truly belong.
Empaths see so much unhappiness throughout their lives. While you would assume being able to absorb the emotions of others would bring them closer to those around them it, for the most part, it does the opposite. While they understand what everyone else feels other people don’t often understand what they are feeling.
They tend to be far more closed off with their emotions than they should be. Empaths are always spending their time walking through darkness. They are challenged in some of the worst possible ways and while they may seem cheerful and happy their lives are far more complicated than you think.
The Empath is someone who must always be able to continue on no matter where it is life is taking him/her. Because Empaths are able to sense so much, they can see all the awful things around them thus making them feel as if they are sticking out more and more. That being said, the Empath is always as authentic as possible. This meaning they will not pretend to be someone they are not. If they don’t fit in, they don’t waste time complaining about it.
“I didn’t belong as a kid, and that always bothered me. If only I’d known that one day my differentness would be an asset, then my early life would have been much easier.”
― Bette Midler
When it comes to living in a world like this one you have to just strive to do your best. Don’t let people drain you and be very aware of all the energy vampires in your life. Remain as grounded as you can and don’t let your own thoughts cause you to self-destruct.
Empaths tend to spend an awful lot of time in their own minds. This can cause them to cling to painful memories and emotions be them their own or otherwise. We are all here on our own journies. We are all unique and must travel down our own paths to figure out what works best for us.
“Some of us aren’t meant to belong. Some of us have to turn the world upside down and shake the hell out of it until we make our own place in it.”
― Elizabeth Lowell, Remember Summer
You are far more capable of enduring hardships than most people, and you can overcome anything that this world throws your way. You will find somewhere that you belong. While your mountains are much higher than those of the people around you, you can overcome them. Never stop searching for a place you can call home. You will find it when you least expect it.
