Trustworthy people in general are extremely hard to find in this day and age. It seems like everyone is out to get each other, and if they can’t gain something from you, they no longer care for you.
Without trust, any relationship is doomed. You can’t build a life or relationship of any kind with someone that you can’t even truly understand. Whether it’s someone you’re dating, a strange neighbor, or even a stranger next to you at the gas station, if something seems off, trust your gut.
Ignoring Physical Boundaries
If someone is ignoring your boundaries, consider it to be a red flag. If they refuse to take no for an answer, even with ‘innocent’ activities such as tickling you or touching your butt (partner) after you have asked them to stop.
While some people just don’t know how to take a hint, dangerous people might do these things to test you.
Not Breaking Eye Contact
Many have a habit of staring intensely when it comes to manipulative people. If you happen to make eye contact, they will not immediately look away. Instead, they will maintain intense eye contact even if it seems like an uncomfortable situation.
Dominating The Conversation
While many people just like to talk, to talk, manipulators will try to completely control the entire conversation.
Moody
Since narcissists tend to get upset when things don’t go their way, keep your eye out for high highs and low lows-intense mood swings are normal for them when interacting with others.
They Tell You How To Feel
Listen to your gut, if someone is telling you to calm down, claiming a situation isn’t scary, or that everything is okay, even when it doesn’t feel good to you. This person might be telling you this to manipulate you into feeling a certain way. Invalidating your feelings could be used as a tactic to try and control you.
Refusing To Apologize
While it can be tough or anyone to own up to a mistake or say they are sorry, untrustworthy people will flat-out deny their involvement at all. These are the types of people who do not like to be seen as the bad guy. They are the only ones who are right in any situation, and you can forget about an apology.
Not Able To Control Their Emotions
If someone is dangerous to be around, a key giveaway is that they will not be able to control their emotions. And it will not be long before you start to notice a pattern with how they interact with other people.
Black And White Thinking
To them, you are either “all good” or “all bad” and there is never an in between. If you are in a relationship with this person, they will not be able to care about you while you are upset, they love you then they hate you, and it can start to become a problem.
Lack Of Empathy
Have you ever been talking to someone who you can just tell is cold at heart? One of the biggest red flags is that they just don’t care about your feeling at all. They never try to empathize with your emotions or those of other people.
Can’t Get Their Story Straight
When untrustworthy people give up information, it might feel like you never get the full story because the details change every time that they tell the story.
