Whether you have heard of Robert Gonsalves or not chances are you’ve seen at least one of his paintings online somewhere. His creativity is truly mesmerizing and the more you look at his pieces the more you find within them.
For those who do not know Robert Gonsalves who goes by Rob has been painting for many years and even from early childhood always dreamed of making a living out of his drawing. He has accomplished a lot through the years and has managed to bring forth so many mind-blowing pieces of art in the process. He is talented like nothing you have ever seen before and it really shows in each piece he creates.
While he did pass away in 2017 his artwork lives on and continues to inspire all who come across it. What one sees another may not and the more you look for the more you will find. I have not ever managed to come across something he painted or drew that did not speak to me on some level.
The ‘biography’ present on his Facebook page goes as follows:
A childhood of daydreaming and drawing has evolved into a career of making paintings that are primarily a celebration of imagination. Along the way, I took a detour into the world of Architecture, but after an enthusiastic response to my paintings at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition in 1990, I began painting full time. Huckleberry Fine Art, in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, took the success of my work to a new level and began publishing limited edition reproductions of it. Three children’s books have been created using my paintings: Imagine a Night, Imagine a Day and Imagine a Place. Master of Illusion is the name of the calendar series that contains my artwork, now in its sixth year.
Below you will find a list containing some of my favorite pieces done by Gonsalves. I hope that you love them just as much as I do. Aren’t they amazing?
