When it comes to dating and finding love there are a lot of things that you should never compromise on or settle without. Sometimes being single is much better than wasting your time with someone you’re not going to be able to really grow with.

When it comes to dating you should never consider someone who isn’t kind to you. We all go through a lot in life, and we have to know how to be kind to one another through whatever life is throwing our way. This is a lot harder to find than most people realize.

2. Faithfulness/Loyalty

Your partner should always be someone who is as faithful and loyal to you as you are to them. We shouldn’t waste our time with anyone who cheats or is unwilling to stand up for us when it’s needed. You should be able to tell if someone is capable of providing these things to you from early on within reason.

3. Open Communication

We have to be able to communicate when it comes to our relationships. If you’re unable to speak to one another about the hard things in life your connection won’t last. The more you’re able to talk about the better.

4. Compassion

If the person you’re interested in doesn’t have any compassion he or she isn’t going to help you through the rough patches in life. People who lack compassion usually tend to jump ship when times get rough and that’s not what you want. You need someone who is going to really care about you and your well-being.

5. Actual Love

Love is something we should never compromise on. If someone isn’t going to give you the love you are seeking you need to find someone else to be with or be single. Love isn’t something you should ever go without when it comes to a real relationship that you want to last. Love isn’t toxic or manipulative, love is caring and respectful, period.

6. Trust and Honesty 

Your potential partner should always be someone you can trust who is going to be open and honest with you above all else. We should never let people close who we are unsure of. If you cannot tell what their intentions are they do not deserve a place in your life.

7. Real Support

Support is never something you should be lacking in love. You and your partner should always be willing to be there for one another through the hardest parts of life. We go through a lot of ups and downs which for many is a big deal. Support is hard to find in this life.
