Tomorrow is not promised, we move through life in a very fragile state and as human beings are not ever as sure as we might want to be about our lives. As each day passes we get closer and closer to death, making the most of each moment we are placed before is a big deal whether you realize it or not.
A lot of people assume that thinking about death means you’re down in the dumps or unable to actually enjoy your life but to be completely honest, accepting that we all die is one of the best means of motivation you can have if taken properly. Life is precious and every second of every single day that you are still able to breathe is a blessing for a number of reasons. It is your chance to do the things you have always dreamed of and to become the best possible version of yourself. If we lived forever some of us would never get anything done because we would always put things off until tomorrow.
How many rainy afternoons or nice fall mornings do you have left in this world? Are you going to miss out on traveling or are you going to get out there and visit the places your heart has always pushed you to? Rather than allowing yourself to fall into the status quo and move forward with the same boring routine each day, live as boldly as you possibly can.
If you’re not someone who thinks about death often please stop and give yourself a moment to think about your own mortality and how you would feel if you were to find out you only had one more day on this planet. Would you be upset about the things you have yet to accomplish or be saddened by the moments you never got to share with those you love? This is why you need to slow down while you can and stop immersing yourself in things that are only going to benefit you for a short period of time, put your priorities in the right places.
The more honest with yourself you are the more clear it will become that you need to start working on yourself and doing things that actually matter to you. Make memories that blow you away each time you think back on them and cultivate a love that will never fall short. Sure, the concept of death is not something everyone is able to truly grasp but for those who do, using it as motivation is one of the best options.
If something or someone is holding you back from living your best life, cutting ties is the only option. Release the bad and move forward with the good. You are in charge of your life and you get to decide where things go as well as how your story ends.
