Leonardo Da Vinci was clearly quite talented and is well-known even now, his painting ‘The Last Supper’ is one that just about everyone can point out. That being said, a lot of people refuse to look deeper than the surface when it comes to really putting a story behind this interesting piece of art.
Da Vinci was an Italian Renaissance artist who achieved great things in his time. He worked everywhere from Rome to Venice and is often described as having been quite curious. His ideas and concepts, in general, were quite ahead of their time and even now we are only beginning to truly understand them.

His keen eye and quick mind led him to make important scientific discoveries, yet he never published his ideas. He was a vegetarian who loved animals and despised war, yet he worked as a military engineer to invent advanced and deadly weapons. He was one of the greatest painters of the Italian Renaissance, yet he left only a handful of completed paintings.
The Last Supper
The Last Supper as you see below is a portrayal of Jesus and the apostles when Jesus made them aware that one of them would betray him. Each has a unique reaction and those reactions have been broken down many times over. Many believe that the 12 apostles also represent different zodiac signs and that Jesus represents the Sun itself. This being potentially a somewhat hidden message locked within the world of this painting.
The 12 Apostles are broken down as follows in regards to the zodiac signs:
St. Simon who represents Aries
St. Jude who represents Taurus
St. Matthew who represents Gemini
St. Phillip who represents Cancer
St. James who represents Leo
St. Thomas who represents Virgo
Mary Magdalene who represents Libra
Judas who represents Scorpio
Peter who represents Sagittarius
St. Andrew who represents Capricorn
St. James who represents Aquarius
and of course, St. Bartholomew who represents Pisces
That being said, there is no direct evidence that Da Vinci intended for this astrological symbolism to be present. While some of the reactions being given by each do seem to correlate with the signs they are matched up to, it could very well just be some kind of coincidence. This zodiac correlation has been something people have been wondering about since the 1950s and even now we are not sure about anything but it is interesting to note that there have even been books that covered the topic itself.
