I think that if you asked most people if they wanted to lead a beautiful, happy life, they would respond yes. To some, the idea of leading a beautiful life may seem like a foreign concept or a privilege only a few can experience, but I would like to let you in on a little secret: you can make your life a beautiful life.
Even if things are not going your way right now, you always have the power to take over and push yourself in the right direction. If this sounds like something you are interested in, then I have good news, leading a beautiful life does not have to be hard. Of course, at first, some of these may seem odd, especially if you have never taken up the habit. But trust me, and trust the process and I assure you, that your life will improve with these tips.
1. Wake up earlier.
At first, this one may be a struggle, so adjust accordingly, One major tip I have is to ease into waking up earlier. For example, if you wake up at 9 AM, try waking up at 8:00 AM for a week and then at 7:00 the next week. If you tend to wake up later in the day, waking up earlier can add more time to your day to focus on your daily intentions, meditate, exercise, and eat a nourishing meal.
2. Try to find activities you LOVE & do them often.
Find some physical activities that you love, there are no requirements for what that is, simply do what you love. Now, do this as often as you can. Exercise boosts endorphins, eases stress, and gives you a sense of power and control.
3. Practice gratitude.
A lot of how we view our life is in our mindset. If you are always focusing on the negative, you will always see the negative. Try starting a gratitude practice and start each day by making a list of things you are thankful for.
4. LOVE your body.
This may sound easy to some and hard for others. If you don’t love yourself first, you are always going to struggle to live a happy life. Try practicing affirmations and making choices that prove your love for yourself. Things like eating healthy and balanced meals that you enjoy, exercising, spending a few dollars on something nice for yourself, and positively refocusing your thoughts are all good ways to practice self-love.
5. Read.
Reading not only expands our vocabulary, but also helps to broaden our horizons. The best part? It’s a healthy escape. Choose one educational book and one fun book each week.
6. Set goals.
If there are things you want to achieve in your life, you need to set goals. For example, if you want a better career, that is a goal. Now, you need to figure out what the steps are and begin slowly moving toward your goal.
7. Live intentionally.
If you are one to wake up and just do whatever, it’s time to start leading a more intentional life. What I mean by that, is that every day and every action you make should be intentional.
8. Practice mindfulness.
In everything that you do, practice mindfulness, It will take practice, but start by noticing during the day when your mind wanders off and gets lost. Now, when you notice this, bring your focus back to the present. For example, if you are in traffic and thinking about the news, bring yourself back into the moment.
