I know, finding time for self-care can be hard, but it doesn’t have to be something big to help you relax. Actually, there are tons of small things you can do that in the end will add up to something much bigger than you’d expect.
Now, for those who do not know the word ayurvedic self-care overall is something that basically relates to natural means of caring for yourself on a deeper level. This could be things like meditating, stretching, and so forth but are not limited in any real sense. The concept of Ayurveda as a whole was brought forth in India thousands of years ago and even now is still going very strong.
Below I am going to go over some different means of self-care that fall into this category and while you might already do some of them without even thinking about it, they’re all important. Doing these things can help you grow in big ways. If you’re in need of body relaxation or looking for balance more properly in your life, you should give these things a go.
7 Ayurvedic Self-Care Rituals That Will Help You Relax Your Body And Balance Within:
1. Self-Massage
Massaging your body is important. If you’re overworking and going too hard you need to take time to relax. This could be something as simple as rubbing your legs or something as complex as spending an hour really getting into the things that you might not typically think about.
2. Bathing Away Your Stress
Baths are one of the best means of self-care. Not only do they help relax your body but they also give you a chance to clear your mind. Spend some of your time in the tub, it will do you more good than you might realize at first.
3. Dry Brushing
Your skin is a very important and sensitive organ. It is something that reacts to touch big time and well, dry brushing is exactly what it sounds like. It is brushing your skin lightly. Doing this will help you get rid of dead skin and also help get things circulating more properly.
4. Eating A Proper Breakfast
Breakfast is often called the most important meal of the day and honestly, that is true. Eating a healthy breakfast can and will help you set the right mood for your day moving forward. This is something I always try to make sure to do no matter what on some level.
5. Walking In Nature
I love walking in nature and the more you do it the more you will as well. This kind of thing really helps calm the mind and will keep your thoughts in check within reason. If you feel stuffed up and closed off, walking is one of the best things you can do.
6. Meditation
I know, we’ve mentioned meditation above but, this one is very important. Take the time to be alone with yourself and your own thoughts. Clear things out properly and just be free. It might take some time to get used to, and you might have to work hard at it but, once you’ve mastered meditation you’ll see how important it can be.
7. Tongue Scraping
I know, this one might sound odd or perhaps even scary to some but it’s not. Use a tongue scraper (you can order them online) to gently scrape your tongue from back to front. Sure, you can also use a spoon but getting a tongue scraper will work wonders, I can assure you of that. This when done right can help stimulate more within than you’d expect.
