Negative energies are all around us and bringing them home can really affect us big time. Our homes are supposed to be our safe havens and protecting them (as well as ourselves) from becoming overly negative is something we should always work to do.

The more prominent negative energies are in our lives the more upset we will end up. We get stuck in ruts and are unable to get out of them. While sometimes we need to accept the negative side of things and take it for what it is, we also need to be able to overcome it.

Protecting ourselves from negative energies is important and learning how to do-so is crucial in moving forward in our lives. Some of these are much easier than the others but all of them will promote positivity within your mind, heart, and home. Some of them turn negative into positive and others push out all stagnant energy making room for new uplifting energies.

17 Ways You Can Work To Protect Yourself From Negative Energies:

1. Stop obsessing over your problems and the problems of others.

Obsessing over the problems in your life is not going to do you any good. The more you obsess the more you give in to the negativity. While it is a bit hard to do, it is something you have to really work at.

2. Practice white light meditation.

White light meditation is something that you should do when you first wake up to ensure that you do not bring home any negative energies. It will only take a few minutes and really helps you to protect yourself. In order to do this, you will just need to sit and meditate for a moment. From here you just visualize a white light coming from within your body and allow it to grow until it is surrounding your entire being.

3. Focus more on self-care.

If you build yourself up you will not be as open to the advances negative energies will make on you. Focus on self-care and really ensure that your own energies are positive. Feed into the good and refuse to give power to the bad.

4. Smudge with sage.

Smudging with sage is one of the most effective things on this list. All you have to do is get some sage sticks and burn them as you walk through your home with the intent of removing the negative energies. In doing this you will refresh things big time.

5. Surround yourself with happier people.

Stop allowing people who are chronically unhappy in your life. Surround yourself with people who make you happy. The happier the people around you are, they happier you will be in the long-run.

6. Learn how to let go of other energies before coming home.

Stop holding onto the energies of others. When someone is going through something you need to be able to differentiate from their issues and yours. Learning how to do this will take time but the more you work at it the easier it will become.

7. Cut negative people out of your life.

Stop allowing negative people to be present in your life. If someone is bringing you down, get rid of them. You do not have to allow anyone in your life that you do not want around.

9. Reduce stress in your life as best you can.

Stop letting stress rule your life. Reduce the stress in your life in any of the ways you feel are appropriate. If something is bothering you make the changes you need to get over it.

Stop saying yes to everyone and everything. Do the things you want and build the life you feel you deserve. You hold yourself back in more ways than you might realize.

14. Stop letting drama rule your life.

The more you partake in drama the more negative you are going to feel. Cutting drama out of your life is one of the best things you will ever do. This allows more room for proper positive promotion.

15. Don’t forget your everyday mantras.

Choose several mantras or prayers that you will use to get you through the day. These are things you should say to make you feel better as the hours’ pass. While they might not seem like much, they will promote positive emotions and help cut back on the negative energies before you.

16. Burn some incense.

Burn some incense to really allow things to die down. If you’re feeling anxious go for lavender or perhaps dragons blood. This is very much like the crystals as each kind of incense can do something different for you. Once again, do your own research and see which ones are best for you.

17. Cleanse your room/house with salt water.

Fill a glass with water and salt then place it in the corner of your room. Allow this glass to sit for several days and then pour it outside. As time passes the negative energies in the air around you will be filtered through that glass and pouring it outside will be giving the negativity to mother nature so that she can turn it into something beautiful.
