We all go through different kinds of stress as we go through our daily lives. Some stress is easy to deal with and well, the rest can sometimes be unbearable.

For those who might not be aware, a nervous breakdown is something that happens when a person is so stressed that they are literally unable to function. This doesn’t happen all the time, but when things build up, it can come out of nowhere.

Signs of a nervous breakdown can vary, but to many seem to be quite similar. If you find that you are in the midst of something like this, you might need to get some help. 13 Signs You Are Having A Nervous Breakdown:

1. You are unable to focus.

You cannot focus properly right now. You feel like nothing really makes sense and your mind if fogged over. You really need a moment to yourself, but you just can’t seem to find one.

2. You feel hopeless.

When we are on the verge of a nervous breakdown or right at the brink of one, we will begin to feel quite hopeless. You might not know what you need to do or where you need to go. You will be very lost.

3. You feel quite restless and unable to relax.

You are always on edge and unable to find peace. Even at home, you are not able to let go of the things causing you stress. They have leeched down into every aspect of your life.

4. Your life feels unmanageable.

You feel like your life is not manageable anymore. You feel like you have way too much on your plate, and it is bringing you down. Nothing makes sense to you anymore, and everything is just too much.

5. You aren’t getting much if any sleep.

You don’t get much sleep at all. You are not able to really relax and wind-down. Your thoughts are keeping you up at night, and even then you’re not giving yourself a proper amount of time to try and sleep.

6. You are very moody/irritable.

You are very moody and frustrated in general because everything keeps piling on. Even the smallest things can drive you up the wall. You are becoming very snappy, and normally you’re not like that.

7. You don’t have much of an appetite or are overeating.

Your appetite has changed. You either want to overeat or have to force yourself to eat at all. If this persists, you might even notice a weight change.

8. Your stomach is always upset.

Stress and stomach issues go hand in hand. If you’re super stressed and really getting worked up, you’re going to feel sick eventually. This kind of thing is inevitable.

9. You are withdrawing socially.

When we are in the midst of a breakdown like this, we tend to withdraw. We stop wanting to be around others and close ourselves off. This is a huge red flag when it comes to those who are usually overly active in the lives of others.

10. You feel like nothing but a failure.

You feel like nothing you do is paying off. You are working so hard and nothing is making sense anymore. You feel like a failure and that is tearing you down within.

11. You have stopped taking care of yourself.

You don’t take care of yourself anymore. You don’t care what you look like or who sees you down in the dumps. You just go through the motions as best you can.

12. You keep having panic or anxiety attacks.

The more frequent things like this become, the more apparent it is that you are in the middle of a crisis. Nervous breakdowns usually go hand in hand with a lot of anxiety and panic in general. Even the smallest things can throw you over the edge.

13. People keep asking if you’re alright.

You are clearly not okay, and the people who care about you can see it. They ask if you’re alright because they can sense that you are not. Let them help you if they can, you don’t have to do everything on your own.
