People who are chronically unhappy often bring themselves down in more ways than they realize. While it might not seem like much, even the smallest things can make the biggest differences.

We all have our ups and downs but if you’re allowing negativity to take hold of your life, you need to make some changes. Below I am going to go over some of the things you might need to stop doing if you want to promote positivity in your life. If you are doing any of these things, changes need to be made.

10 Things Chronically Unhappy People Do That Brings Them Down:

1. Always assuming the worst

If you are always assuming the worst, you are not going to be able to find happiness. You have to sometimes stop letting your mind wander; sure, the worst might happen but it also might not.

2. Obsessing over the past

If you obsess over the past you are putting a damper on your future. While you may have done some shitty things or made some bad choices they do not define you. If you cannot change it you should move on from it.

3. Letting difficult people get the best of them

Sometimes we let people who are hard to be around bring us down. If you are doing this you are allowing the negativity to win. While it might be hard, cutting ties with negative people is important.

4. Comparing themselves to others

No one is perfect and you need to know that! Comparing yourself to someone else is only going to bring you down. Other people are going through their own things and have their own flaws, just because you cannot see them does not mean they are not present.

5. Being too afraid of failure

While it might not seem like it, you could be letting fear get the best of you. Being afraid of failing is not going to do you any good. If you want to move forth in life you have to be willing to fall sometimes. Remember! There is no success without the occasional failure.

6. Talking down on themselves

If you talk down on yourself you need to stop. There is nothing wrong with you and you need to be your own biggest fan, not your worst enemy. Build yourself up don’t tear yourself down.

7. Refusing to see the bright side

If you are always being overly negative and refuse to see the bright side you need to change your perspective. You need to try and see the glass as half full instead of half empty. While this might takes some time you can do it if you try hard enough.

8. Blaming others for their own mistakes

If you are blaming others for your own mistakes you need to stop. You need to own up to the things you do and have done. While you might not realize it, playing this blame game is taking a serious toll on you.

9. Refusing to forgive themselves

If you are not allowing yourself time to be forgiven within you are creating a negative mindset. You need to be able to move on from the things you have done. You have to start from within because promoting positivity within your being will help you make the changes that need to be made.

10. Refusing to see their own worth

If you do not see your worth, you need to try and do-so. You are so much more than you think and can offer this world so much. Knowing your worth is important and loving yourself is the key to true happiness.
