Anger is an intense and often destructive emotion in response to the situations around us, from something as small as an annoying younger brother to something as major as racism and discrimination. While we certainly do have some choice in how we respond to the world, each of us possesses our own natural reactions and responses.

While some people will respond in a very subtle manner, muttering under our breath, holding a grudge or simply avoiding someone altogether, it is important to know that the destructive nature of this emotion can have a very serious impact on the world. Look, for example, at the incidents of violence that occur around us on a daily basis. Something as simple as road rage can be boiled down to the anger of one individual lashing out at another, causing a downward spiral. It is only by recognizing and identifying our personal reaction that we can then take control of our response, avoiding any potential long-term consequences.
