When it comes to who a narcissist picks to manipulate there are a lot more things taken into consideration than you might think. They know exactly what they are looking for, the way they are is not something that comes on out of nowhere.

Narcissists, for those who may not be aware, are people who suffer from narcissistic personality disorder. They are very cold and lack empathy for others. They are generally very self-centered and manipulative, to say the least.

These kinds of people believe they are better than everyone else. They do not see things the way everyone else does. They only want to be with or around people that they can benefit from. They will use you until they are done and then throw you away. Below you will find a checklist of all the things narcissistic people tend to look for in their victims.

7 Things Narcissists Look For in Their Victims:

1. Someone who needs them emotionally.

The Narcissist will target those who seem to be lacking something. Someone who is a bit more emotionally invested than the rest would be an ideal target. If you get more into things than others do it might not be a good thing.

2. Someone who wants to be swept off of their feet.

The narcissist is very charming and sweeping people off of their feet is something of a specialty of theirs. They know targeting people who are easy to please makes them look better. Those who are always looking for prince charming are easier marks to hit.

3. Someone who they can benefit from being with.

They target people who can help them get something they want. If they can benefit in any way you will be a target. They know exactly what they are doing from the start.

4. Someone who will let them play the victim.

The narcissist is always trying to play the victim so someone who will call him or her out is not an ideal target. However, sometimes they do like to push their boundaries. You really have to be on your toes when it comes to dealing with a narcissist.

5. Someone who has low self-worth whether they realize it or not.

They want to target people who may put on a show that they love themselves, but truly do not when it comes down to things. They want people in their lives that can put on a show in public and be falling apart at home. They want someone to play with.

6. Someone who believes they can fix others.

They need someone to think they have changed or to think they can change. If someone is going to give up on them easily it is not really worth their time toying with them. They give this a lot of thought.

7. Someone who is quick to trust those they care for.

They need someone who will trust them quickly. Someone who will let them in right away. While the narcissist does not mind working for things from time to time this is much easier.

Don’t be an easy target! Love yourself and know your boundaries. There are some bad people in this world; so don’t be fooled and let just anyone come in and sweep you off of your feet.
