Just because someone thinks you owe them something doesn’t mean that you actually do. Instead of feeding into everyone else, start feeding into yourself.

You don’t have to explain yourself to anyone, especially those who do not understand you or the things you do. Your life is your life and you are free to do the things you want within it. Sure, those things have consequences but at the end of it all if you’re making your own decisions at least you’re the one in the driver’s seat.

If you’re not hurting anyone else and you’re doing things for yourself don’t worry about what the people around you are going to think. Below I am going to go over some of the things that people tend to think they have to explain to others when they really don’t. If someone is picking at you about any of these things make sure you tell them to say hello to your middle finger.

7 Situations You Don’t Ever Have To Explain To Others:

1. Your religious views or lack thereof.

No one on this planet needs to know your religious views if you do not want them to. You don’t have to be religious to be a good person and you don’t have to go to church every Sunday to believe in a specific religion. Do things your way and stop answering to other people.

2. Why you care about the people you care about.

Of course, you care about the people you care about for reasons of your own but those reasons aren’t going to make sense to everyone else. There is no point in trying to explain because people only see what they want to see. You don’t have to tell others why you’re friends with who you’re friends with as long as you know that friendship is worth having that’s all that matters.

3. Your dreams, goals, and priorities in life.

If you share these things with others they will only work to pull you down. The more you share the less you’ll likely do and those who want to sabotage you will find the upperhand. Don’t waste your time sharing your goals and other things of the sort with people who don’t actually care about you in the first place.

4. Why you’re single and whether or not you’re looking for someone.

Being single isn’t as bad of a thing as people make it out to be. If you’re looking for love but haven’t found it that’s fine but there is also nothing wrong with not wanting love. Other people shouldn’t be so caught up in your love life anyways.

5. Your living situation regardless of how odd it may be.

Sure, you might be living with your ex’s mother still but that is not anyone’s business but your own. Other people have no right to judge you and they don’t have to know why you’re doing the things you’re doing if you don’t want them to. They don’t know what you’re facing and won’t understand even if you explain.

6. Why you don’t want to have children.

If you don’t want kids then you don’t want kids. You don’t have to explain to someone that the world is too messed up to bring them into or that you just can’t stand children. You are entitled to do with your reproductive organs what you wish and that means not putting them to use ‘in that way’ if you don’t want to.

7. Why you look the way you do, we all go through changes.

We’re all unique in our own ways and whether you’re gaining, losing, or getting plastic surgery your body is not the business of others. You don’t have to tell someone why you’re eating more or why you’re going on a diet. Your own personal reasons are your own personal reasons, period.
