For years conspiracy theorists have speculated that the US moon landing was faked and for numerous reasons that can actually start to make sense if you look deep enough into it. Now, Dmitry Rogozin, the head of Russia’s national space agency, has said that he is going to confirm if it actually happened or not.

Lots of people believe that the landings were faked and especially in Russia, the idea is quite prominent. That being said, this theory is one that despite the evidence we’ve been given will never die. You see, back in the mid-1970s, the Soviet Union abandoned their lunar program after having four rockets explode. As a matter of fact, just a few years back Russian officials were contemplating an international investigation into the film footage of the first original moon landing back in 1969 that has been accidentally erased by NASA.

All of that aside, this topic is making headlines again as officials from the Russian Space agency have made jokes in regards. A video posted on Twitter shows Dmitry Rogozin, the head of Russia’s national space agency being interviewed/questioned. In this video, he is asked about whether or not NASA landed on the moon or if it was fake. His response was that they would investigate the claims and “have set this objective to fly and verify whether they’ve been there or not.”

While it doesn’t seem like much more than a joke, as will notice he is smirking and shrugging while giving his answers this kind of this is quite interesting. The fact that the tapes were replicated by a Hollywood-based company fueled into the fire of the landing itself having been fake in the first place but at the end of the day, people will as many have said before believe whatever they want to no matter what.

While I am not on either side of this I do find things fishy on both ends. What do you think about all of this? Should Russia go up and see what they find or would it be a waste of time? Who knows, maybe in the future they will make their way to the moon for one reason or another but for now, this doesn’t seem likely.
