Sure, we have heard in recent times that Russia was working on a new class of military capability but it seems they have completed their goal a lot sooner than we thought. Two of their three testings on this terrifying ‘vehicle’ have proven successful but what exactly is this ‘vehicle?’

Well, basically Russia has built a hypersonic glide vehicle that travels along the upper atmosphere to deliver a nuclear payload. No, I am not joking this thing really does drop nukes. Apparently, it might be ready for deployment as early as 2020 which is rapidly coming up as time goes by so quickly. It is being referred to as Avangard and claims have been made that it can travel at around 3,100 MPH!

CNBC reported as follows on the ‘vehicle.’:

The sources, who spoke to CNBC on the condition of anonymity, said Russia successfully tested the weapon, which could carry a nuclear warhead, twice in 2016. The third known test of the device, called a hypersonic glide vehicle, was carried out in October 2017 and resulted in a failure when the platform crashed seconds before striking its target.

The latest revelations come more than two months after Russian President Vladimir Putin touted his nation’s growing hypersonic arsenal as “invincible.”

The hypersonic glide vehicle, dubbed Avangard, is designed to sit atop an intercontinental ballistic missile. Once launched, it uses aerodynamic forces to sail on top of the atmosphere.

One U.S. intelligence report, according to a source, noted that the hypersonic glide vehicles were mounted to Russian-made SS-19 intercontinental ballistic missiles — and one test featured a mock warhead.

This weapon or ‘vehicle’ has been in the works for several years now and is equipped with onboard countermeasures that are able to defeat even some of the most advanced missile-defense systems. It is quite easy to maneuver and almost impossible to track. Back in March Putin boasted about this and other weapons he was working on in the hypersonic arsenal. He calls these weapons ‘invincible’ and they damn sure seem to be.

Putin also warned during this time that any use of nuclear weapons against Russia or its allies would trigger a response. Here in the US we currently do not have any kind of nuclear weapon that could even remotely begin to defend us against a hypersonic missile. Do you think this weapon will ever be used?
