While alternative remedies and medicine, in general, will not work for everyone, they are a good option when it comes to doing things in a more natural way. A lot of people do not realize how simple the answers to some of their problems truly can be if you’ve never heard of reflexology, you should really pay close attention to this.

Reflexology is a form of bodywork that involves applying pressure to the hands and feet in order to reduce or get rid of a person’s pain in a specific place elsewhere in their body. Through this pressure method, specific areas (sometimes even on the ears) are activated/stimulated to create real benefits for that person and their health. This could be easily compared to acupressure but is still a bit different in its own ways.

Taking Charge wrote as follows on how reflexology makes a person feel:

Reflexology may be beneficial in restoring balance and harmony in the body and releasing tension. Practitioners believe that it helps facilitate a deep state of relaxation, calm the emotions, and produce a serene mind. Research studies support many of these benefits.

Many people describe a profound sense of relaxation and increased energy following their session. In addition, specific studies indicate that reflexology may reduce pain and anxiety.

Reflexology is growing increasingly popular across Europe and Asia as both a complement to other treatments and as a preventive measure. One example is Denmark, where various municipalities and companies have employed reflexologists since the early ’90s.

According to several studies, this practice in Denmark has resulted in reduced sick leave and absenteeism (and significant economic savings for the employers). Employees have consistently reported complete or partial improvement in conditions where they sought reflexologists’ help and even relief for additional problems related to stress. In one municipal district, almost one-third of the employees reported greater satisfaction with their jobs after completing six sessions with a reflexologist.

Reflexology can help with anything from tension headaches to digestive issues and well, most things in between. Typically sessions are anywhere from half of an hour to an hour long and can be quite relaxing, to say the least. Each section of our hands affects different parts of our bodies. Knowing which spot to work with can really help you to feel much better than you might assume.

As you see below, there are tons of points all located on our hands. These points can be your best friend or your worst enemy depending on how you work with them. If one seems to hold more pressure than the rest, it needs to be worked with.

Now that you know what reflexology is, implementing it in your life is going to be a lot easier. Even if you don’t know just yet which areas you need to work, you can benefit yourself by doing a basic and somewhat universal run through. To learn how to do that feel free to check out the video below. What do you think about all of this? I for one think it is quite fascinating.
