Happiness is not as complicated as some people make it out to be. It’s something we create within ourselves and grow as we move forth in this world.

You cannot find happiness through bragging to others or oversharing. The more you let other people in the more they will tear you down. Stop being so willing to let everyone know your business, some things should be kept personal.

The more we share with others the more control we give them over our lives. Sure, telling the few people you trust and are close to things when needed can be beneficial but don’t let everyone at work know what’s going on within your marriage and don’t share everything with people whose last names you aren’t even aware of. The more you wear your heart on your sleeve the more painful things will become for you, keep that in mind.

This world is full of toxic people who want to do nothing more than see other people fall. They work hard to uncover weak points that they can pick at in order to tear everyone around them apart. While they might not use the things you’ve told them right now, in the future they may turn them against you and really make you second-guess being so willing to speak with others.

If you and your partner are having a fight don’t rush to let everyone else know how angry you are. Give yourself some time to cool down and then if you really need to talk to someone talk to one person you trust, not everyone on break in the lunchroom. The more you share with others about your partner the more negatively the people around you will view him/her because they will only be seeing one side of things and not the whole picture.

If you’re struggling financially no one but the people who are involved in your finances needs to know. The more people know you have the more jealous some of them will become as sad as that may seem. This world is a place full of people who either want to help others grow or want to grow off of the help of others and you can’t be too careful about which ones are in your circle.

I know all of this might sound like a bit much but it’s the truth and this is the world we live in. Instead of raising people up we’re too hooked on tearing them down. We don’t like to see other people doing well, we want to know that we’re above them and doing more than they can in the given moment. Live your life how you want to live it and don’t bother caring about what other people might think from the outside looking in.

If you’re having a problem with someone keep that problem between you and that person unless the situation calls for more. Oversharing is a real issue in this day and age which I believe is causing a lot more turmoil for us all than we tend to realize. Before you speak, stop and think. If you want to be happy, do something that makes you happy whether other people are looking or not.
