When a tooth becomes infected or diseased, the organ associated with it might be unhealthy as well. There could be serious underlying issues associated with your toothache(s).

This is something that has been believed for quite some time now. Every single body part including organs, tissues, and well the rest lies on specific acupuncture meridians or energy channels. This is also true for our teeth. Each tooth is connected to a specific part of the body through these meridians. Our teeth, as well as the rest of our body, is connected in ways we cannot see. Please check out the chart below to see what teeth are associated with which organs.

This chart essentially shows us that for instance if we are experiencing pain in tooth 25 or 24 which would be our two lower front teeth we may be facing some kind of kidney issue as well. Those kidney issues could include things like kidney disease and can be very serious. According to this chart as you can see above pain in the third molar (top right wisdom tooth) is connected with the heart. If you were experiencing pain in this tooth you would also benefit from having your heart health checked out as well.

One dentist in AZ who is a ‘biological dentist’ wrote as follows on his website:

As a Biological Dentist, I believe the conditions present in a patient’s mouth are a reflection of their overall health. In accordance with Ancient Chinese medicine, the mouth is a reflection of the person’s total health. Ancient Chinese physicians would examine the patient’s teeth, gums, tongue, and oral cavity before they examined the rest of the patient’s body.

In biological dentistry, we stress the use of non-toxic restorative materials for dental work and focus on the unrecognized impact that dental toxins, dead teeth, and hidden dental infections can have on the patient’s overall health. I believe tooth decay, periodontal disease, materials used in restorations, root canaled teeth and infected past extraction sites are all factors that may affect a patient’s health.

A condition in one part of a patient’s body may be the cause of a health issue located in another part of the patient’s body. This condition is called Focal Infection Theory. We see Focal Infection Theory when patients are suffering from chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, thyroid dysfunction, infertility, kidney dysfunction, breathing problems, cancer, digestive complications, joint pain and limited joint motion just to mention a few. This is not to say that the patient became ill as a result of their mouth problem(s) but that it may be a contributing factor.

You can actually use an interactive meridian tooth chart on their website. Click here to check that out, what do you think about all of this? I for one will be paying closer attention to my teeth from now on as well as the organs associated with them.
