Fear by definition is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat. Being afraid is not something most people enjoy, and it definitely is not something to see as funny.
Sometimes fear can literally be so intense that it is crippling. Getting rid of said fear would be like fighting Chuck Norris and winning without having trained for the fight at all, a miracle. However, being fearless is not just getting rid of your fear, but accepting it and moving on.
Just because you are afraid of something does not mean it is impossible to overcome. You should know by now that impossible things are a lot more possible than you might think. Below you will find several things that we all should know in regards to fear.
9 Things We All Need to Know about Fear:
1. We are all afraid of something.
No one in this world is lacking when it comes to fear. We are all afraid of something. While some people will deny being afraid of anything, those people are liars.
2. The more you feel the worse things get.
The more fear you feel the worse things are going to get. I am not saying you should suppress your emotions but you should work to control them. Even in terrifying situations, you need to be able to keep your composure.
3. No two fears are the same and all are equally scary.
My fears are different from your fears but that doesn’t mean yours are worse than mine or vice versa. All fears are real and should be validated.
4. Fear is something we learn.
Fear can be genetic but for the most part, it is learned. For instance, if you fall off a bridge or get into a car wreck you might be afraid of water or even hate being in a vehicle because of this. It is insane.
5. Confronting your fears really does help.
When you confront your fear you are one step closer to overcoming it. Getting in the face of what you are dealing with and giving it a royal fuck you will work wonders. I for one love confronting my fears.
6. Fear can distort reality.
Fear can literally distort reality. When you are on one stage fear works to bring you down. Either you are with or against your shadow self. If you have something like OCD for instance, when trapped in a small room the room will seem much smaller than it was before.
7. Fear means growth.
When we are afraid of something it means we have room to grow. It gives us something to work to overcome. Fear is not always a bad thing.
8. Things are never as bad as they seem.
Just because everything seems down and you feel broke does not mean you are. Nothing is ever as bad as it seems. You are able to find the good in everything and everyone.
9. You can overcome your fears.
When you become aware of your fears you can work to overcome them. It does not take a lot of effort to give these fears a face and once they have a face you can begin tearing them apart piece by piece. Fear is only holding us back from our true potential.
