Toxic relationships can be more harmful than people realize. While they may feel normal at times, they are anything but.

Our relationships are something we should pay attention to just as we do the things we eat and the things we do. Once a relationship becomes toxic, something needs to be done about it. Toxic relationships come in a wide variety and are something we should all be as aware of them as we possibly can be.

While no relationship is perfect, there are lines that should be drawn. If you find yourself in a toxic relationship please don’t settle. Check out the list below for some insight on how to tell if you are in a toxic relationship.

8 Signs You Are In A Toxic Relationship:

1. You give too much and get nothing in return.

You are constantly doing things for your partner, and he or she is doing nothing in return. You are putting forth all the effort to make things work and your partner is doing nothing. This is far too frustrating to explain.

2. Your partner is unreliable.

You cannot rely on your partner for anything. He or she is always letting you down. It is as if you are dealing with a child.

3. You often feel far too drained to deal with things.

You are always a bit exhausted. This is because your relationship is taking far too much out of you. If this continues on it can end quite terribly, to say the least.

4. The environment is quite hostile.

You are both at one another’s throats far more often than you are not. You don’t get along well at all and everything is a fight. Nothing is ever simple anymore.

5. There is a lack of trust.

You and your partner cannot trust one another anymore. This is usually for a reason. There is no sense in staying in a relationship if there is no trust.

6. The relationship is full of drama.

If your relationship is full of drama it is also a major headache.  At some point, you have to take the time to consider whether or not it is worth it.

7. Your partner does not respect you.

If your partner does not respect you there is no sense in being in the relationship at all. No good relationship lacks respect. Respect is the foundation for EVERYTHING.

8. You are not happy.

If you are not happy with your relationship something needs to change. There is nothing wrong with changing things or leaving people who cause you harm. Do what is best for you.
