2. It Uses Energy
We are constantly using energy. While it isn’t the same kind of energy, we use to power cell phones and TVs it is energy nonetheless. This kind of energy is more important than any other kind.
Our bones are not as hard and strong as you think they are. They are living tissue and this living tissue is constantly being broken and rebuilt. We practically have a new skeleton every ten years. If our body didn’t do this constantly we would be getting hurt a lot more often.
Our hearts are forever pumping blood through our bodies. Each heartbeat pumps a little over 2 ounces of blood. Our hearts are always working hard for us, your heart pumps about 2000 gallons of blood a day.
Our bodies are constantly shedding skin cells. We shed about 30,000 per minute. isn’t that insane?
Our bodies are constantly producing more and more blood cells. We produce about 120 million per minute. Without these blood cells, we would not be able to survive.
The salivary glands in your mouth are also working constantly. They produce roughly 2 liters of spit each day. Saliva is necessary as it breaks down food to aid digestion.
Your body keeps your heart pumping. It does not let it stop. This all depends on how ‘fit’ you are as to how it beats but it does beat. Most adults sit at around 60 to 100 beats per minute. If your heart stops beating your blood stops pumping.
We have to keep breathing to stay alive. Our bodies do this even when we are sleeping. Do you ever notice that your breathing without even thinking about it? Isn’t that a bit crazy? We take about 20 breaths per minute.
Our kidneys are always working twenty-four seven. They filter all of the blood in our bodies. They are working constantly to get things back to where they need to be. Our kidneys filter about 180 liters of blood a day.

Our bodies are mostly water, you know that. You are constantly subconsciously making sure your body has the amount of water that it should. Your body is able to trigger thirst when it has lost water.
We blink a lot during a mere 60 seconds. We are always blinking whether we realize it or not. We spend about ten percent of the time we are awake with our eyes closed.

We are always sending nerve impulses. One single neuron can send about a thousand per second and you know we have tons of neurons. Our bodies are always busy.

We think about 50 thoughts per minute to be more exact. A lot can happen in just one minute. Time may seem to go by fast but when you break it down like this it feels like a lifetime.
