A New Zealand based brewery company has developed a groundbreaking invention! It will not only preserve the world’s vanishing beaches, but it will also keep glass out of landfills!
This groundbreaking machine was invented by DB Breweries, and they are one of the most well-known companies in New Zealand. The company had a humble beginning in 1929 at the beginning of the great depression. They are well known for being environmental activists; you can clearly see that through their works.
The Invention? A machine that pulverizes glass beer bottles into sand!
The machine will not only reduce the number of glass bottles in landfills, but it will also help preserve the beaches that are disappearing around the world. All you do is pop in a glass beer bottle and it crushes it and eliminates the silica dust and plastic labels. Thus leaving you with a fine sand. Let’s face it – this machine is freaking awesome and it will have a tremendous effect on the environment. Glass in landfills has a pretty hefty effect on the environment. Not to mention the fact that industries are harvesting sand from the beaches around the world like they’re taking candy from a baby. Over ⅔ of the world’s beaches are disappearing.
The sand created from the beer bottles will be donated to National Roading Projects. Just imagine the huge environmental effects that would take place if these machines were in every local bar across the world! It would be amazing! The world has no choice anymore – we have to start thinking about the environment. Our industrialization is killing off species by the thousands! In fact, by the end of the century, it is estimated that over one thousand species will be extinct!
