If you aren’t the friend that is always cold, then you must know someone who always is! I, for one, am always cold and sometimes my friends have a hard time understanding how i’m cold in 75 degrees weather. Well, some of us are just different I suppose.
For some reason, I can always manage to be cold. It doesn’t matter how warm the weather is, all it takes is one small breeze to send chills running up my back and shoulders. Then there are people who can wear short sleeve t-shirt and shorts all year long – even in the winter. I’ve noticed some people being able to casually dress throughout all the seasons. It makes you wonder what is making the difference? If we are in the same area, why is one cold and another hot? Well, it’s actually more relevant than you’d think.
According to health blurbs, some of the issues regarding one being constantly cold or hot could actually be an indicator of poor health. Some of the common issues that go unnoticed like anemia, malnutrition, infection, and weight loss are the ones that pose the most symptoms. It’s important to have a regular check-up because most of the symptoms from health issues like these can easily go unnoticed.
You could also be extremely stressed if you are constantly hot or cold. Michael Lynch is a clinical neuropsychologist that reports there is a lot going on inside the body that can cause weather-related effects we feel from stress.
He says, “If you’re stressed, your autonomic nervous system kicks in, causing blood to move toward your body’s core organs. This is your body’s fight or flight response.”
It could even be more extreme than just feeling cold or hot too. One might even commonly sweat in usual circumstances such as a cool room or cold place, or the opposite: shivering. There are many different factors that can contribute to our weather-related issues, but there are actually a few ways to eradicate them too. You can try changing your temperature issues from the core of what you wear, eat, or drink. Veggies and dark greens are commonly good treatments for hot weather and soups and carbs are good for the winter!
If nothing else, when you’re cold just visualize a warm place! Think about sitting next to a fire or in a freshly dried blanket. You might even go as far as visualizing yourself on the beach of a tropical island!
