In a chilling simulation, North Korea drops a nuclear bomb onto an American city, and in turn, a massive mushroom cloud emanates from the area. The simulation was included in a World War 3 simulation aired by North Korea as propaganda.
The video aired just weeks after the tensions between the U.S and North Korea began to escalate up to what is beginning to look like a war. Included in the video are frames of the American flag, which are overlapped with the image of a cemetery. Experts believe that the bomb used in the video is an Intercontinental Ballistic Missle (ICBM).
The quality of the video is quite bad, even for North Korea, and depicts what appears to be a CGI submarine that is being used to launch a missile before the scene changes to show real footage of an actual rocket that swaps back to the CGI to show the missile hitting a very poorly drawn version of a U.S city.
That is the same missile that was showcased just one week prior to the video’s debut, during the nation’s Day of the Sun parade which celebrates the birthday of the country’s founder. It is suspected that the U.S’s hacking program thwarted the testing of the missile during its latest launch.
With the tensions between the Trump administration and Kim Jong-un continuing to steadily rise, many are worried that the propaganda video could actually become a reality. During Vice President Pence’s 10 day tour of Asia, he warned Jong-un by saying, “we will defeat any attack and meet any use of conventional or nuclear weapons with an overwhelming and effective American response.”
Of course, the video is entirely propaganda, and the quality is a bit shaky. However, it gives an ominous warning to the American government that does call for concern. While the nation has yet to successfully nuke anyone, there is the off chance that it could happen. Take a look at the video for yourself, and tell us what you think.
