While most people assume all potheads are lazy and unproductive, recent research seems to say otherwise. Are cannabis users more successful in life?
The study conducted by market researchers BDS Analytics found suggests that cannabis users are happier in life and even more likely to volunteer in their communities than people who do not partake in the use of cannabis. This was concluded through a survey of consumers and abstainers across a wide variety of factors. The survey went over a lot of data from two states here in the US that have legalized the sale of cannabis, those two states being Colorado and California.
They found that weed consumers made significantly more money than people who abstained and in California weed consumers actually made almost $24,000 a year! Twenty percent of California’s pot smokers actually held a master’s degree unlike the 12 percent of non-smokers. Similar results were also observed in Colorado. Weed consumers in these two states generally felt better about their personal lives than non-smokers. BDS Analytics researchers noted that Marijuana consumption is also associated with healthier habits and a more active social life.
Cannabis users seem to be much different than we have thought them to be throughout the years. This survey was completed by around 2,000 adults and 1,200 of those adults were marijuana users. The report itself reads as follows.
“One theme that clearly emerges from the research is the overall healthy well-being of cannabis consumers… when compared to ‘acceptors’ (people who do not consume cannabis but might consider it) and ‘rejecters’ (people who do not consume cannabis and would not consider it),”
Pot consumers enjoy a lot of aspects of life. Stereotypes are not always accurate and we need to remember that. Cannabis is something that can help people everywhere and these findings only help when it comes to the battle of legalization throughout the rest of the US. How do you feel about cannabis?
